We see hope in Sam.
Sam is 18 and lives in the conflict zone in northern Uganda. He heads up his household of six younger siblings in a camp for internally displaced people. Five years ago, he was sponsored to do a one year carpentry course. Since then, he has been working in the HOPEHIV-funded camp workshop/business incubator and has been able to earn enough money to put himself through the next level of carpentry training in 2007, graduating with top marks. Sam’s dream is to run his own carpentry workshop one day.
