We see hope in Milly.
Milly is in her final year at Brother Bousang Primary School in Nairobi, Kenya. She was selected in 2007 by her teachers to join the school child rights club established by the Kenyan Alliance for the Advancement of Children’s Rights (KAACR) through HOPEHIV funds. At that time, Milly was very shy and struggling in her classes. The club not only helped her understand child rights, but developed her leadership and public speaking skills. In 2008, she was elected as head girl.
Teachers have started listening to children’s problems with a view of looking for solutions…They are also demanding action on the parents who discriminate against children...We are making sure each child is not only made aware of his/her rights, but also his/her responsibilities.
Find out more about KAACR's child rights clubs.
